When a New Door Makes More Sense Than Another Repair
Some doors have had enough repairs that the next one just buys a little more time. That's usually when people call us about a replacement. Weather plays a part here too. Hurricanes aren't much of a concern in Odessa, but hail is. We've had storms roll through the Permian Basin with severe wind and large hail, and a door that takes a beating like that can end up past fixing. If you're not sure which side of that line your door is on, we'll look at it and tell you straight.
How We Install It
We start with a tape measure and a level, because the new door has to fit the opening you actually have and sit plumb in it. The sections go up and get fastened with a drill and socket wrench kit. The spring and cable assembly goes in following the instructions written for that specific spring system, since different systems don't install the same way. Torsion springs are a job for a trained installer, and our crew handles that part. If the job includes an opener, we reinforce the top section of the door before the opener gets attached, so the pull of the opener doesn't work that panel loose over time.

Price and Permits Before We Start
Most single-door installs fall between $700 and $2700. Where yours lands depends on the door and what's included, and our written quote spells that out before any work begins. If your property sits in an Odessa floodplain, the City requires a flood-development permit for construction or alterations, so we check your location up front and factor any permit time into the schedule.
How It Works
In practice, the steps run roughly like this:
- Install the supplied vertical track over the rollers, fasten its brackets to the jambs and align both sides.
- Fit the horizontal tracks over the top rollers and secure rear hangers to the ceiling framing; brace the tracks and check that they are square to the door.
What It Typically Costs
