When One Section Takes the Hit
Most of these calls start with something backing into the door. The crease runs across one section, and from the driveway it looks worse than it is. Other times the damage is quieter: a section cracked at the edge, a panel pulling away from its neighbor, or a hinge torn out of the skin.
A sectional door is a stack of sections tied together with hinges, so one bent section affects how the sections around it sit. We look at the whole door before we quote, and if a shallow ding hasn't creased the section or moved the door, we'll tell you it can wait.
Matching the Panel to the Door
Sections aren't universal. The replacement has to match your door's brand, style and size, or it won't sit flush with its neighbors and it will read as a patch from the street. The panel hinges and mounting brackets have to be right for that door too.
We confirm which section is damaged, measure it, and read the door's brand and profile, because the panel order depends on all three.

How the Swap Goes
The damaged section comes out and the matching replacement goes into the track. We align it flush and level with the panels on both sides. Close isn't good enough, because a section sitting proud or low shows at every joint.
The hinges, brackets and rollers go back on with manufacturer-approved fasteners. We tighten the bolts firmly without overtightening, since a bolt cranked hard into a panel skin is how a hinge pulls loose a few months later. We do this in a lot of hot Odessa garages (about 2,672 cooling degree days a year), and the standard doesn't change with the heat.
What It Costs
One standard sectional panel replacement, installed, runs $300 to $900.
Where you land depends on the replacement panel your door needs (brand, style and size), whether the hinges and brackets around the damaged section need replacing too, and how many sections are hurt. Two damaged panels is a different quote than one, and we write it that way.
